ABOUT
World Ocean Week – Suriname was a multi-day, free event dedicated to celebrating and protecting our oceans. Open to the entire community—students, families, industry professionals, and anyone interested—this event brought together scientists, conservationists, local experts, and stakeholders to explore the vital role oceans play in our lives.
Participants engaged in expert talks, documentary screenings, exhibits, and field excursions, all designed to deepen understanding of marine ecosystems, showcase job opportunities in ocean-related sectors, and highlight how local communities can actively contribute to ocean conservation.
With a focus on ocean literacy, inspiration, and collaboration, World Ocean Week – Suriname empowered a collective movement toward a healthier, more sustainable ocean future.
Stay tuned for upcoming events!
